About Emanuel

We long to see God glorified in our city

It starts with our mission.

Jesus told his disciples to go and make more disciples.

Healthy things multiply. A healthy disciple of Jesus is working to multiply himself. And a healthy church is working to multiply more churches.

We are excited about God’s mission in the world and the incredible opportunity to join God in this great work!

Our Mission

Is to glorify God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:19-20

Emanuel in 4-3-2-1

4 Pillars

The four foundational values that drive our church’s mission

Proclaiming The Authority Of God’s Word Without Apology

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”

Lifting High The Name Of Jesus Through Worship

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Believing Firmly In The Power Of Prayer

“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”

Sharing The Good News Of Jesus With Boldness

“And also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.”

3 Marks of a Disciple

The Three W’s of Discipleship

We are passionate about what Jesus Christ called his church to do in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

We believe this Great Commission statement–the call to make disciples–is the task to which every believer in Jesus Christ is called. This mission drives every ministry at Emanuel.

Our focus is not on a quantity of disciples but on a quality of discipleship. We believe that a quality disciple of Jesus Christ will passionately pursue these three commitments:

Worship Christ

In every setting, our church is seeking to make disciples who worship Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth with their entire lives. By God’s grace, we are committed to Spirit-filled and truth-led worship in all of our weekend worship services, prayer gatherings, small groups, and any other ministry. Worship is more than singing, and we want to see Jesus glorified by men and women who worship Him in everything they do.

Walk With Christ

We believe that our growth in our relationship with Jesus Christ accelerates when we actively and humbly walk with the body of Christ through small groups. Connecting with the rest of the body of Christ is not only helpful, it’s critical. Our aim is to encourage one another to grow in Christ through life-giving worship, application-oriented Bible study, prayer, and mutual accountability.

Work For Christ

Finally, a quality disciple of Jesus Christ seeks active roles of service in our church body. Taking our lead from Jesus who gave his life for us, we seek to make disciples who give their time, treasures, and talents to build up the body of Christ through service.

1 Vision

Vertical Focus. Horizontal Impact.

We desire for more and more people to know God, feel His love, and experience His glory. There is nothing greater than seeing and experiencing the glory of God. Even Moses, when he went on the mountaintop with God, wanted more of God’s presence and said, “Please show me your glory” (Ex 33:18). God is so gracious that He granted Moses’ request and gave him a glimpse of His presence.

God is still gracious to His people today. Throughout scripture, He promises to reveal His glorious presence to us. For example, in John 14:21 Jesus says, “Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

Emanuel is a church where we seek the manifest presence of God. We want to know and experience God Himself and not just what He can do for us. Although God can and will heal human hearts and relationships, our primary focus is on our relationship with God. When we look up, when we are consumed with our vertical relationship with God, all of our horizontal relationships fall into place.

Jesus, show us your glory!

Emanuel

We are a church whose foundation is Jesus Christ and whose authority is the Bible. Because of that, our passion is to glorify God by making disciples who Worship Christ, Walks with Christ, and Works for Christ in every aria of life. Thank you for visiting us online today.
